Term 3 2018

Welcome back to Term 3, great to see all the children arrive back from holidays safely and refreshed. This is another busy term with our annual PCS cross country in week 3, our school trip to the museum in week 4, St John's visit in week 7 to teach us how to be emergency smart and ready. The school production and art show are also towards the end of the term.

Our term value is "Determination" -

Investigative Studies - this term we are exploring ancient civilisations in particular Ancient Egypt. The children are all intrigued and have many questions about life and what it was like during this era. We're looking forward to learning all about the Egyptian pharaoahs, pyramids, the Nile River and so much more!

Watch this space as we'll post lots of things to come. We hope you enjoy!

Local Hero Visit - Sniffer Dogs

We have been learning about our local heroes in Term 2 and were very fortunate to have a very special visit from the cutest local heroes who work at the airport - two gorgeous sniffer dogs! We learned so much about their work and how important their job is. We got to see them in action when they sniffed out the teachers! Oh Ms Hutchinson - what are you hiding?! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜‚The best part of the visit was when we got up close and were able to pat them - they were so brave and kind to let over 100 children say hello and gently rub them - thank you for being our awesome super local heroes!

Te Reo Maori with Ms Purvis

We enjoyed having Ms Purvis teach us lots of Te Reo Maori phrases and songs in Term 2. We had a lot of fun making our head bands and using poi to sing this waiata - check out our pictures.

More Music with Mrs Corke

Another fun music lesson with Mrs Corke learning about the different elements of music using instruments.

Pyjama Mufti Day

We had so much fun coming to school in our pjs - we were so comfortable all day...what a great theme for a mufti day student councillors! Check us out in our jammies...

Learning a Samoan sasa with Kalani

We are so fortunate here at PCS to have Kalani who is one our amazingly talented and super awesome Learning Assistants. He so generously taught Room 17 (and eventually all the Year 3s) a  Samoan sasa for our year group assembly. It was so much fun - Kalani, you're a natural teacher! The only regret is that we didn't record any videos! Thanks Kalani, you're the best!
Hope you at least enjoy the photos.
