Argument on why Cellphones Should Never Be Used While Driving

Argument on Cellphones should never be used while driving
By Iman Shabani  Room 17

Opening Statement
I strongly agree that cellphones should never be used while driving because it is dangerously distractive, It can cause crashes and you can get a fine of $80 dollars and lose 20 demerit points. I will discuss these 3 key points with you and I hope I have convinced you to believe what I think.

Key Point 1
Firstly, It makes the driver lose concentration on the road. If the driver is with passengers, It puts passengers on the death line. It is also a hazard to pedestrians.

Key Point 2
Secondly, cars can collide into each other. According to Transport Minister Steven Joyce, in 2003-2008, there were 25 fatal crashes and 482 injury crashes over a five year time period. That is serious and shocking. Each year, The number of people using their cellphones are increasing.

Key Point 3
Thirdly, to stop cellphone use, the NZTA set a fine of $80 dollars and you lose 20 demerit points. Although, people still use cellphones while driving, Police can fine them, and they could lose their license.

Conclusion
In my opinion, cellphones should never be used while driving. If people don't stop, this country will have crashes everywhere! You also might might crash and get injuries or maybe even die. I hope I have convinced you to believe what I think.
